New Bases

Well, I have found what bases I will be using for the Old School Classic.
Solid Nickel, and at around $40 a pair, $200 will get you a full set, and a broken fingernail.

The Bedford Premier League was established in 2002 to provide a fun, yet competitive Subbuteo environment for players in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. The normal league season runs from September to May with tournaments spread out through the Summer. Summer tournaments include the Texas Cup, the Lone Star Open, the Bobby Moore Memorial, and the Old School Classic (played with the classic lightweight bases).

The Old School Classic has been postponed until August. It was to be held at Corey’s house, but someone must have spilled ranch dressing on the furniture.

The fifth annual Texas Cup was played on June 28 in Bedford. After a late start and a convoluted round-robin format, Toby Givens and Mike Nelson met up in the final. Once again Mike found himself the bridesmaid with Toby winning 3-2.

The BPL hosted the 3rd annual Bobby Moore tournament at Arena Athletics on May 10th. The Venus and Serena Williams of the BPL (Scott and Toby Givens) fought it out in the final, with Scott prevailing in the last minutes 3-2. Fireworks ensued as sportsmanship was tossed aside to sibling rivalry.
Toby did one-up Scott by actually managing to break a Tango midway through the first half.
Full Tournament results will be on here eventually.
texassubbuteo.com will now be using a blog format to do news updates. Mike never updates the site as it is and figures it would be easier to let everyone do it.
